Mate used to be a professional athlete (former wakeboard World Champion). After he stopped competing he got into the crypto currency business as a miner. He co-founded Bitcoinist.net a bitcoin/blockchain news site. He is now the Chief Operation Officer at Bitcoin.com the premier source for everything Bitcoin related.  Mate focuses on a larger vision and communicating that vision to others while staying on top of trends in the industry. His goal and passion is to make cryptocurrencies as popular as possible. He is often invited to the conferences and to speak on panels on the importance of the transparency and legitimacy of the bitcoin industry.
